"Today, LTU is one of germany's renowned airlines. Every year, LTU carries more than 5.6 million
passengers on its 26 red and white coloured jet aircraft. More than 70 airports worldwide are
served by LTU aircraft, ranging from the Airbus A320-200 with 174 seats to the Airbus A330-300
with a seating capacity of 387. Although LTU operates on behalf of many large tour operators,
more than 98 per cent of all flights are operated as scheduled services. The individual tour
operator LTUplus and last-minute provider BUY.bye Touristik are part of the LTU airline. In 2006
the Nuremburg-based company Intro Verwaltungs GmbH acquired 36% and the MIC GmbH, based in Meerbusch,
acquired 24% of the LTU shares. The other 40% are held by REWE Zentralfinanz, which is headquartered
in Cologne."
